It's 2008 and the cost of doing TV, Radio, Newspaper and Yellow page advertising keeps going up, yet the effectiveness has been going down. Everyone has Tivo or a DVR to record their TV shows and conveniently delete all the commercials. They have iPods, six disc changers and Satellite Radio so they can avoid radio commercials. They get their news on the Internet, not the newspaper. They have six yellow page books but use only one of them.
It's nice to know that in the Capital Region we have Clipper Magazine. With ads and offers from the best of the best businesses, readers look forward to getting a magazine containing only ads and no editorial content. Clipper Magazine is the most read direct mail publication in the area. We have 716 businesses that we work with and a 92% renewal rate. Zero percent of our clients are on contract.
There are many companies who try to duplicate what we do. If you ask our advertisers they would say, "There is only one Clipper Magazine, the rest are just cheap imitations." We take great pride in our Magazine and doing direct mail right.
